How many times have you been walking along and looked down to see a penny just lying on the ground?

What do you do?

Do you stop and pick up the penny or just keep walking with the thought of it’s not even worth my time to stop, bend over and pick up just one penny.

If you are like me, most of the time you keep on walking because the thought is “it’s just a penny”.

What if we had a goal of seeing how quickly you could collect one hundred pennies? We would stop and pick up a penny anytime we saw one lying on the ground because we had a goal of collecting one hundred pennies.

How many actions do we not take because like the penny lying on the ground when we don’t have a goal, we just keep on walking saying it’s not worth the effort.  Penny actions add up when we take them on a continuous and consistent basis.  For us to notice those penny actions, we must have a goal in mind to help make us take those penny actions that at any other time would seem not worth our time.

Whether we realize it or not, any penny actions we take intentionally or unintentionally have gotten us exactly where we are at this very moment.

My challenge to each of us is to stop ignoring the penny actions in our lives.  Those penny actions when taken can quickly add up to one hundred pennies helping us achieve any goal we have set for ourselves.  The penny action we walk past could be the very action that enables us to say, goal achieved.

What penny actions will you start to pick up?
