Texas weather is crazy. One day it’s freezing outside, and two days later the sun is out, and we’re in a heat wave.

The great thing about my house is that no matter what the weather is like outside, I get to control the temperature inside. If I’m a little warm, I turn the AC down. If I’m cold, I turn the heat up.

I have zero control over the Texas temperature.

I have complete control over the temperature in my house.

For many of us, our world is like Texas weather — unpredictable — and we have zero control over it.

We have no control over outside conditions.

But we have complete control over our inside conditions.

We have control over how we think.
We have control over how we act.
We have control over how we respond.
We have control over how we feel.

My challenge to each of us is this: remember that we can’t control the world around us. Those are circumstances outside of our control.

Yet even when we know that, we often allow those outside conditions to creep in and start controlling what’s happening on the inside.

But we have the power to regulate our inside conditions — just like I regulate the thermostat in my home.

Control the only thing you can control… YOU.
