One morning around 5:30 last week, I was in my office at the training studio getting ready for the clients and heard a knock on my office door.  I answered the door, and it was a fellow business owner who has a business across the street.  He said he just wanted to stop by and check out my new studio.  I said you are up and at it early this morning.  He said well, I am actually up late; he said he was just finishing up working and was about to go home and get some sleep.

Isn’t perspective an interesting thought? He and I were at the exact same moment, he viewed the time as late because he had yet to go to sleep, and I viewed the time as early because I had already had a full night’s sleep and was ready to start the day.

I challenge each of us, as I have many times, to not only understand our perspective but also see others’ perspectives. He and I didn’t have to agree on each other’s perspectives; we just had to understand that for him, it was late, and for me, it was early.

Many times in life we find ourselves in the exact same moment as others but see the world in a completely different way.

Understanding different can sometimes be the challenge.
