I have several televisions at the gym, all on different channels. I have one television on NBC, so I see all the news throughout the day, from the morning news to the Today Show to the evening news. Most of the news that comes on is about war in other countries, problems in our country, political distress, local problems, and much more, all with a negative impact.
If I were to take a lot of stock in what was on the news daily my viewpoint of the world could be that it is a very negative place where there is no hope ahead for humanity.
The news is just a glimpse of our world and not the entire picture. We don’t see the good being done in the world by others. The ones feeding and sheltering the homeless, the organizations helping those that need help to improve living conditions, get better jobs, help those in other countries, and so many other wonderful things people are doing to make our world a better place.
Many times we are guilty of viewing our lives the same way the news negatively depicts the world. Many times we focus on the negative things in our life and depict our life as not being that great.
We forget about the meaningful conversation we had with our significant other, the smile we gave to the cashier having a bad day, the day at work that went smoothly, the opportunity to help someone, or the other million little things that went unnoticed throughout our day, week, and month.
I challenge each of us to not make a statement about our life from a negative focused viewpoint. Instead, make a statement about our lives from the positive abundance mindset of our life being one of a million little things noticed that make it a wonderful life.
Life is good or bad as a result of our perspective, not the circumstances.
Breaking news, life is good, change your perspective.
