A year and a half ago, I moved from a 10,000-square-foot gym to a 2,500-square-foot studio — going from a public gym to a female-only training studio. I needed to simplify my life, have less space to maintain, and focus more on my target clientele.

When I moved into the smaller space, I mentioned to my landlord that if the space next to me ever became available, I’d be interested. Within the last month, that space became available — and it’s the same size as mine, 2,500 square feet. A year and a half ago, I thought I would want both spaces.

When my landlord approached me about the extra space, I said, “Let me think about it.” I thought about all the reasons I once wanted more. I thought about what has been created inside M2B Fitness and about where this studio is really going. And in that quiet reflection, I realized something important: the bigger space wasn’t part of my bigger vision.

My bigger vision has always been about people, not square footage. It’s been about creating a community where women grow mentally, get stronger physically, feel safe enough to be themselves, and supported enough to become more of who they were created to be. For the last year and a half, our 2,500 square feet has held courage, healing, laughter, tears, friendships, strength, and growth — and that’s something you can’t measure in feet or inches.

Social media tells us that bigger is better — bigger houses, nicer cars, bigger vacations, newer gadgets. It tells us that more will finally make us happy.

But a strong family can live in a small house.
A reliable car can still carry a meaningful life.
A simple vacation can hold the deepest memories.
And sometimes the more we accumulate, the more we lose what matters most — presence, connection, and peace.

My challenge to each of us is this: don’t chase bigger if it pulls you away from better. Bigger often comes with more noise, more pressure, more stress, and more distance from the very things we say we want — peace, joy, and connection.

What makes a space meaningful isn’t what fills it… it’s who fills it.

And our 2,500 square feet at M2B Fitness feels big every single day because of the women who walk through our doors — the heart, the courage, the stories, and the growth they bring with them.

That’s the kind of “bigger” that actually matters.
