Have you ever played the game Marco Polo?
If you haven’t, the game is pretty simple. The person who is “it” yells “Marco” with their eyes closed, and the person being chased responds with “Polo.” The one who is “it” then moves toward where they think the sound came from.
The goal is to find the person based only on their voice. The one calling “Marco” goes searching for the one who answered “Polo.”
I often think of the game Marco Polo when I think about what we do at M2B Fitness—and what we’ll be doing with our nonprofit, Aaron’s Angels of Hope. In both the training studio and the nonprofit, our goal is simple: meet people in their need.
When someone new walks through the doors at M2B, we meet them at the door.
We meet them at their current fitness level.
We meet them in their emotional state.
We meet them in their mental state.
We meet them right at their point of need.
Our purpose with Aaron’s Angels is the same—to meet people in their need, whether that’s physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, or wherever they are in life.
We want to meet people in their need so we can walk side by side with them—through what they’re facing and into the growth they’re seeking.
Oftentimes, I think we get too far down the road and simply look back, waving for others to come join us. But they have no idea how to get there. Yes, they can see us—but the road between where they are and where we are looks long, overwhelming, and difficult.
My challenge to each of us is this:
When you see someone in need, don’t just point the way—go to them.
Meet them where they are. Walk beside them. Take the next step with them… then the next… then the next. Encourage them along the way and show them that the road is possible—not by telling them, but by walking it with them.
Marco Polo…
I will find you in your need.
